Veterans Memorial Park (130 Atlantic Street)
June 15 through October 26, 2024 9am-2pm

Vendor Eligibility

Produce: All products sold must be grown or produced on land/property which is owned or leased by the vendor. Vendor must provide crop plans for all produce they grow, and will be inspected by market master weekly to ensure compliance.
Vendors are permitted to sell a limited number of products purchased from other farms to supplement their offerings. Receipts of purchase for these products must be show at each market and each product must be labeled with the farm name and location of where it is grown.
In the case of value-added agricultural products, the main ingredients shall be produced by the vendor and the product processed by the vendor.
“Jobbers” ie: vendors selling produce purchased from wholesalers will not be permitted.
Preference will be given to CT Grown Farmers.
Non produce/specialty foods: vendors shall source as many local/CT grown ingredients as possible.
Non Food Vendors: A limited number of non food vendors will be accepted,
Products must be produced by applicant.
Flea market items, crafts made from kits, wholesalers, jobbers and re-packaged foods CAN NOT be sold at our market.
Any skincare products, lotions, balms, repellents, soaps must have a certificate from the Connecticut Department Protection.
If accepted, you will be required to send copies of the following:
1) Proof of Liability Insurance ($1million per occurrence minimum)
2) Sales Tax Certificate (If your product is exempt from sales tax please attach letter from State of CT confirming this business is exempt from sales tax)
3) If applicable, proof of Workers’ Compensation Insurance
4) Must complete a City of Stamford temporary food permit

Booth Fees

Full Time: $175 per 10’x10′ space for entire season
Part Time: $35 per 10’x10’ space per week

Market Master Fee: There are no additional fees this year

Stamford Downtown reserves the right to limit the number of booths rented to a vendor or to limit the participation of a vendor at any market at its sole discretion and such decision shall not be contested by the vendor.

Rules/Regulations:
Booth Assignments
• Stamford Downtown does not guarantee a specific booth location at the market.  Booth location is at the sole and absolute discretion of Stamford Downtown. Booth location on a specific date does not guarantee or constitute an agreement by Stamford Downtown to provide that same location to Vendor on future dates.
• Full-Time vendors receive priority location. Part-Time vendors may be assigned a different booth location each date that such vendor attends the market.
• Vendors must keep all goods within the boundaries booth space. No goods or tables are allowed beyond the poles on the aisle side of vendor booth.

Cancellations
• The Stamford Downtown Farmers Market is held rain or shine unless weather is deemed unsafe by the City of Stamford Director of Public Safety.
• If Vendor is unable to attend a market, a 24-hour cancellation notice is requested.
• There are no refunds or credits for inclement weather or cancelled dates.

Equipment
• Vendor must provide all necessary equipment and displays.
• All tents must be securely anchored. Vendors are solely responsible for any damage or injury that should occur due to negligence in securing their tent(s).
• Each vendor is responsible for the cleanliness of their space during the market and cleanup after. All trash must be hauled out at the end of the day and cannot be put in the public or privately maintained trash receptacles nearby.  Failure to do so will result in a $100 Fine per incident.
• Access to electricity is not available at every booth. If you need electricity, indicate this on the application. Extension cords will be required and may not be stretched across walkways.
• Vendors may not park on the market site during hours of operation without permission.

City of Stamford Plastic Bag Ordinance
NO PLASTIC BAGS! Sec. 137-64 says “Disposable carryout bags made of plastic shall not be sold or distributed by a retail establishment in the City of Stamford.” In Sec. 137-63, it defines “retail establishment” to include farmers markets specifically.

Vendor Conduct

•Vendor may only bring to market what has been disclosed on their application and approved by Stamford Downtown and the City of Stamford Health Department. Should vendor wish to add or change products/services brought to market after submitting application, vendor must make a written request to the market master for review and either approval or rejection of the desired change.

•If Stamford Downtown determines, in its sole discretion, that Vendor is not selling appropriate products, or that Vendor or its employee’s conduct is inappropriate at any point in time, Stamford Downtown may request the Vendor vacate it’s space immediately. Stamford Downtown will have the right to prohibit any such Vendor from leasing future space.

All decisions regarding the eligibility of a vendor for participation in the Stamford Downtown Farmers Market will be made solely at the discretion of Stamford Downtown and are not contestable by the vendor. All applicants will receive a written response stating such applicant’s eligibility or ineligibility to participate. Vendors are responsible for all payments for confirmed dates as well as for the conduct of all persons working in such vendor booth(s).

• Vendors must comply with all applicable Federal, State and local laws, rules and regulations, including but not limited to those related to health and licensing. Food Vendors are responsible for complying with applicable health and sanitation requirements and must be permitted by the City of Stamford Health Departments of the markets they attend.
•All prices must be clearly marked. Prices are established by the vendor.   Vendors are responsible for collecting and reporting all applicable Federal, state and local taxes.
• Vendors will cooperate with and participate in promotions & programs organized by the Promoter (for example, S/FMNP, WIC, etc.)
• Vendor certifies that all persons assisting in the Vendor’s booth have read and fully understands these rules and regulations and will abide by them. Vendors are solely responsible for the conduct of all persons working in such vendor’s booth(s).
