The Palette of Sisterhood Pop-Up Gallery (96 Bedford Street) will be hosting workshops throughout the weekend. See below for details. PLUS, art lovers could take home a piece of original artwork while supporting a worthy cause. The Palette of Sisterhood will donate a portion of their sales, during Arts and Crafts on Bedford, to support Fairfield County’s Community Foundation Fund for Girls. The Fund helps to provide “sustainable solutions that support the safety, health, and economic security of women and girls across Fairfield County.” fccfoundation.org

Live Body Painting Demo with Alicia Cobb – 1 PM to 3 PM
Come and enjoy this unique form of art as Alicia Cobb transforms the human body through art, right before your eyes. With close to 20 years of experience painting human skin, this will be an interactive experience you don’t want to miss. The audience will have the opportunity to engage in conversation, ask questions and take photos during the demo. This is a free demonstration but donations are encouraged. Part of the proceeds will go to charity.

Join in on a storytelling workshop using creative writing and art-inspiring prompts to discover the “flower” along your own “detour.” Discover how any different directions your life has taken can inspire an entire story to be shared!
Amy Oestreicher is a PTSD peer-to-peer specialist, artist, author, writer for The Huffington Post, speaker for TEDx and RAINN, health advocate, award-winning actress, and playwright. As a survivor and “thriver” of multiple traumas, Amy eagerly shares the gifts of life’s “beautiful detours” her educational programming, writing, mixed media art, performance and inspirational speaking.
