The DSSD is funded primarily by 214 commercial (including apartment buildings) and 303 residential condominium property owners who pay an annual supplemental tax to the District based on their property assessments. In addition to this assessment revenue collected by the city, a significant portion of the organization’s revenue is raised through grants, sponsorships, and event income. In 2024, for every $1 of assessment paid by a property owner, $1.60 was returned in services and programs.
