SUMMARY:Quantum Leap: A Bold Fusion of Chamber Music
DESCRIPTION:Quantum Leap is a prestigious ensemble that redefines chamber music by seamlessly blending classical and contemporary styles. This dynamic performance will include live composer participation\, including noted New Canaan musician and composer Gwyneth Walker as a narrator. \nThe ensemble includes locally based musicians Edita Orlinyte (violin)\, Shan Jiang (violin)\, Suzanne Corey-Sahlin (viola)\, Gunnar Sahlin (cello)\, and Maxim Pakhomov (piano). Individually they have trained and appeared at prestigious universities and concert halls from Stockholm to Tokyo and throughout the US\, bringing an international quality to their performances. Since 2002\, Mr. Sahlin has been Principal Cellist of Norwalk Symphony Orchestra and often performs with his wife Ms. Corey-Sahlin as “Duetto Viello.” \nIn addition to the performance of Ms. Walker’s “Trails and Open Spaces”\, the program also includes Marc Chan’s “How Rivers Become Other Rivers” and the “Piano Opus 88” by Antonin Dvorak. \nA reception follows the musical program. Funding for the concert is supplied by a grant from the Stamford Arts and Culture Commission. There is a suggested donation of $20.
