The ARTWALK in Stamford Downtown is yet another step towards showcasing the growing art community and collectors market in Stamford Downtown.  As part of our Art in Public Places initiative, and in conjunction with this year’s Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition entitled “Downtown Abstractions,” Stamford Downtown is sponsoring its first ARTWALK from Friday, June 14th to Saturday, June 15th.

Created by Stamford Downtown Special Services District, a phenomenal experiences awaits ARTWALK patrons from Stamford and its surrounding communities.  Showcasing 95 talented northeast artists, photographers and sculptors, our inaugural ARTWALK in Stamford Downtown will reflect a diverse selection of mediums, styles and trends in the contemporary art world.  The majority of artwork will be available for purchase and remain on display until July 7th.

In addition to the retail and restaurant locations hosting artists in their establishments, six Stamford Downtown art galleries are actively taking part in the ARTWALK by featuring special summer art

exhibitions including the following:

2. Franklin Street Works, 41 Franklin Street – “Strange Invitation” and “Excess”
3. Old Town Hall Museum, 175 Atlantic Street – “smART: an iPhone & iPad Art Exhibition”
4. R. Hollander MasterGoldsmith, 154 Bedford Street -“Subduction-works of Hollander & Davis”
5. Stamford Art Association Gallery, 39 Franklin Street- “Art and Soul of Stamford”
6. UConn Stamford Art Gallery, 1 University Plaza – “Different Strokes”
